The V236-15.0 MW is an offshore wind turbine that combines Vestas' EnVentus and 9 MW platforms, integrating a geared medium-speed drivetrain, the CubePower full-scale converter and the Control System 8000. Its 115.5 m blades sweep 43,742 m2 and give a capacity factor above 60%, so a single turbine can produce up to 80 GWh per year, depending on site conditions. Vestas says the turbine is designed for high-wind sites and rated for IEC 1 extreme winds up to 50 m/s and IEC T up to 57 m/s. It uses advanced control and damping systems to reduce foundation requirements. Design lifetime is 30 years, with an option to extend depending on project conditions, and the nacelle is laid out to make maintenance access easier.
