It has a rated output of 750 kW heat and is designed for sink temperatures of up to 200°C, combining waste heat and electricity to produce steam. It uses less than 2 kg of helium as its working medium, which is non-toxic, non-flammable and has a GWP and ODP of zero. Because the gas does not change phase during the process, the heat pump has very few restrictions on source and sink temperatures and is robust to large and sudden changes in inlet temperatures. The design resembles large ship diesel engines, with a four-cylinder double-acting engine, four gas circuits and a crankcase with crankshaft, and cooling is generated as a by-product.
