HTWO's engine-type fuel cell system is presented as the driving force behind Hyundai's hydrogen mobility, developed from the fuel cell system of the XCIENT heavy-duty truck with improved power density, optimized driving technology and an enhanced interface and communication environment. Hyundai states the technology is proven through the real-world operation of approximately 54,000 fuel cell electric vehicles worldwide as of August 2026, with verified safety and durability. The system is rated at 94 kW net maximum power and 30 kW net minimum power, up to 61.7% efficiency, and is packaged at 651 x 888 x 718 mm for 181 kg and 415 L with an IP67 / IP69K rating. It accepts ISO 14687-2 / SAE J2719 hydrogen at 18 bara plus or minus 1.5 bar and operates in ambient temperatures from -30 to 50 C. Stated applications cover light commercial vehicles and passenger cars, medium- and heavy-duty trucks, special vehicles, city and coach buses, and power generators.
