MOPICO Jauniunai

Everllence will supply a 5 MW hermetically sealed MOPICO® (Motor Pipeline Compressor) system with integrated magnetic bearing technology to EPC contractor MT Group, for the Jauniunai station in Lithuania operated by AB Amber Grid. The unit will compress natural gas to around 53 bar to increase transmission capacity on Lithuania's network, a regional corridor between Latvia and Poland, while running on renewable electricity with zero direct CO₂ emissions during operation. The compressor is directly driven by an Everllence high-speed electric motor and supported by MECOS active magnetic bearings, which removes the need for dry gas seals and lubrication systems. Its simple design with a single rotating element eliminates couplings, gearboxes, lube oil and shaft seals, aiming at low maintenance, quiet operation, unlimited starts and low lifecycle costs. Design, manufacturing and testing are carried out at Everllence in Zurich, Switzerland.
