Nel Hydrogen

Nel is a pure-play hydrogen technology company with a history tracing back to 1927 and a global presence. It specializes in alkaline and PEM electrolyser technology for the production of renewable hydrogen, with an offering that spans kW-scale units, mid-scale systems of 1-20 MW and large-scale plants of 20-100 MW built by multiplying identical 2.5 MW alkaline modules. Its stated mission is to make renewable hydrogen easy for hard-to-electrify sectors such as steel, refining, ammonia, shipping and transport. Nel became the first fully dedicated hydrogen company listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange in 2014, and completed a second alkaline production line at Herøya in 2024, taking annual alkaline manufacturing capacity to 1 GW.
