AlphaCore 800 is Velocys' highest-capacity microchannel Fischer-Tropsch reactor to date, designed to produce up to 800 barrels per day, or approximately 30 kt/a, of FT liquids from a single reactor. It is aimed at larger sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and e-fuels projects and is particularly suited to SAF plants targeting 100+ kt/a of production. More capacity per reactor means fewer reactors as projects scale, which can simplify the FT island, reduce associated equipment and lower FT unit cost. The reactor joins AlphaCore 50, 200 and 400 in a throughput-based family that uses the same core technology, and it works with Velocys' SQRCAT catalyst as part of the microFTL platform. Actual production capacity depends on project-specific design conditions, syngas availability and composition, and FT island configuration.
