Mahler AGS Hydroswing plants purify hydrogen from synthesis gas or off-gas streams using multibed pressure swing adsorption. Impurities such as CO, CO₂, CH₄ and N₂ are selectively adsorbed at high pressure on layered filling materials chosen to suit the feed composition and product requirements, giving a continuous flow of high-purity hydrogen. Units cover hydrogen capacities from 100 to 20,000 Nm³/h, with purity up to 99.9999 vol.-%. Plants run fully automatically and are built for remote operation. They have automated start-up and shutdown, load adjustment and a completely pre-manufactured valve skid. Typical uses include refining and petrochemicals, steel and metallurgy, glass, chemicals and pharmaceuticals, food, electronics and technical gases.
