Sweeny hydrogen PSA unit

Linde Engineering lists the Sweeny unit among the flagship projects of its HIPURE PSA hydrogen recovery and purification technology. Located in Sweeny, USA, the pressure swing adsorption unit recovers hydrogen from steam reformer off-gas, with a product capacity of 197,000 Nm3/h of H2. HIPURE PSA plants include adsorber vessels filled with adsorbent materials, tail gas drums, valve skids, piping, instrumentation and a control system. Impurities are adsorbed at high pressure and desorbed at low pressure, while high-purity hydrogen passes through the adsorber beds. Linde states the technology can reach hydrogen purities up to 99.9999 vol.% and that plants are delivered as fully tested, prefabricated modules.
