Characteristics
6 of 9 fields · all sourced · retrieved 2026-09-27The DQ1000 is John Cockerill Hydrogen's pressurised alkaline electrolyser, rated at 1000 Nm3/h of hydrogen (2136 kg/day) for 5000 kW of plant power consumption. Hydrogen is delivered at 30 bar (g) without compression, at 99.8% purity before the purification system and 99.999% after it, which the manufacturer states is suitable for fuel cell vehicles. The stack is designed as a duplicable 5 MW block for large scale plants, with an expected lifetime of 20 years and a degradation rate of about 1% per year. Two caveats on this record. First, its source is the copy of the product sheet published by the Hannover Messe trade fair, not a document served by John Cockerill's own site, which publishes no per-model figures. Second, the sheet gives energy consumption at the stack in direct current (4.16 to 4.66 kWh/Nm3) and never at system level in kWh/kg: the stack figure excludes the rectifier, the auxiliaries and the purification unit, so it is not comparable with the system-level consumption shown on other records.
