H2SAREA

H2SAREA re-validates H2SITE's membrane technology for separating hydrogen from natural gas, with integrated operation in a test loop of a natural gas network. The equipment produces 4 kgH2/d and currently works with hydrogen quantities between 2 and 20 %, the maximum tested in the project. It achieves a high hydrogen recovery factor while maintaining the high purity of the hydrogen obtained. H2SITE sees this type of equipment as essential once green hydrogen is transported in pipelines, either blended with natural gas or as pure hydrogen. The separation relies on palladium-alloy dense membranes that are exclusively selective to hydrogen.
