Rondo Energy

Rondo Energy develops the Rondo Heat Battery, an electric thermal energy storage system that converts intermittent wind and solar electricity into continuous, zero-emission industrial heat and power. The battery uses electric heaters to radiantly heat refractory brick to high temperatures, then discharges superheated air or steam on demand as a drop-in replacement for fossil-fuel boilers, including combined heat and power with a steam turbine. Headquartered in California, the company offers the system through capital purchase, lease or heat purchase agreements, and is developing and operating projects across North America, Europe, Asia and Australia in sectors such as chemicals, biofuels, food and beverage, and cement.
