The BAUER GRU® MB5 is a rotary screw gas booster designed for injecting biomethane into the pipeline grid where higher pressures, up to 1100 PSIG, are needed. It also suits large gas turbine power generators that require higher gas inlet pressures. It pairs with the GRU biogas recovery compressor system, taking that unit's outlet pressure and boosting the biogas to pipeline pressure or to the pressure the gas turbine generator needs. Like all BAUER GRU® booster units, it has variable frequency speed control, so the compressor adjusts to the incoming gas flow. Bauer favours rotary screw boosters over reciprocating piston compressors for their higher reliability and lower cost of ownership, especially in continuous duty, and delivers the system on a heavy-duty steel skid built for plug and play installation.
